Today was a truly fabulous day not only for our children or Sam's Soccer Academy, but for Indonesia.
Indonesia's flag flapped in the breeze, along with 22 other flags, mostly of European nations. After a few hiccups, the flag was presented in front of a large crowd of teams, along with their entourages, as the Indonesian national anthem was played.
Although I am not naturally of Indonesian descent, after spending close to 20 years in Indonesia, I can honestly say I felt pride in the mornings event, and proud of to be Sam's Soccer Academy, representing Indonesia. What a truly wonderful occasion.
The ceremony started with all teams gathered together in a park before the parade to Pineda Stadium. During this hour, all teams showed curiosity and excitement towards each other, as well as secretly, but naturally, checking out their opponents. This was also a chance to socialise with all the children from around the world, have photos with each other and even make or build on budding friendships from the Barcelona Football Club field trip.
At this point, I offer no photos, just try to visualise this wonderful experience shared by so many.
